Dolores works across film, theatre, and text.

FAT is her debut film project with Ashore Productions. Film adaptations of her book Divine Right and play Flicker, F**cker are also in development with Ashore. With Screen Ireland and Alice Productions, Dolores is working on a screen adaptation of her play, The Station. Her work has been optioned by Hell’s Kitchen Productions, Element Pictures, Sleeper Films, and Imagenation. She has written for Netflix, developed feature film Empty Sky with Screen Ireland, and her short films include Detention, Keep Talking, and Heaven in a Wildflower.

For Theatre, Rice creates visionary work with a strong emphasis on women’s voices. Recent projects include workshops and readings of Flicker, F**cker at The Triad Theatre, New York and The Station at Smock Alley Theatre, Dublin. She has directed internationally, including productions at 59E59 Theaters, NYC, Tribeca Performing Arts Center, NYC, The Lir, Dublin, and The Abbey Theatre, Dublin. She is a recipient of an Arts Council Award for her play The Station.

Rice holds a first-class MFA in Directing from The Lir, Trinity College Dublin, an MA in Performance from Goldsmiths, University of London, and trained at Les Cours Florent in Paris. She has taught film, theatre, and literature at University College Dublin and La Sorbonne. She continues to train actors internationally.
